Holton Wildcat, Cameron Karn Helping Lead the Potent Wildcat Rushing Attack
Cameron Karn

The Holton Wildcats have been a great team this season and enjoyed a great year and are looking to cap off a perfect season with a state title as they play in Salina on Saturday in the Class 4A state title game against Eudora.

Wildcats have been led by a potent rushing attack all season with their wishbone attack out of the backfield and one of the guys helping lead the way in that attack all season has been senior, Cameron Karn. Karn has amassed 165 carries for 1,207 yards and 16 TD's on the ground which ranks second on the team in both yards and rushing TD's. Also on the season has caught three passes for 81 yards and TD.

Karn on the season has picked up the main workload in the playoffs as he leads his team in rushing through the playoffs with 71 carries for 516 yards and six TD's in four playoff games.

Last week against Mulvane may have been the most important for Karn to shoulder the workload for Holton as his fellow running mate in the backfield Drake Ewing was out with an injury. Cameron carried the ball the most he has all season in one game carrying it 25 times for 128 yards and two TD's, while also coming up with his fourth interception on the season (leads team in interceptions).

Cameron in the playoffs has surpassed 100 yards every game for four straight games with 100 plus yards (149 yards on 13 car. vs. Hesston; 133 yards on 16 car. vs. Collegiate; 106 yards on 17 car. vs. McPherson).

The rushing attack as been a key integral part to the success for the Wildcats this season helping them to their 13-0 record and to the Class 4A state title game on Saturday versus Eudora. Holton will be looking for their first state title since 2005, when they finished that season unbeaten.

Karn and his band of Wildcat brothers will look to cap off their stellar season with a state title on Saturday. (You can listen to the game on 103.9 KNZA and online -- click here)
