Nemaha Central Thunder, Kaley Dalinghaus Posting Top Throwing Marks

Nemaha Central Thunder senior, Kaley Dalinghaus has performed well in multiple sports in her career and track and field is no different as she started put together a strong senior campaign so far in the throwing events.

Last week Dalinghaus competed at the annual KU Relays who went against some top flight action in the Midwest in all three throwing events. Her best finish on the day came in the shot put as a toss of 41’03.75 earned her fifth place out of 25 competitors, while in the discus a toss of 121’05 gave her seventh place out of 24 throwers and in the javelin a throw of 119’05 was good for 12th place out of 25 competitors.

In the other three meets this season for Nemaha Central, Dalinghaus has not finished below third in all three throwing events. The Thunder senior took first in the shot put at the Republic County Invite, Nemaha Central Invite and Silver Lake Invite, while winning the discus and javelin also at the Silver Lake Invite. At the other two events she recorded second place finishes in the javelin and third place finishes in the discus. Her best toss in the shot put on the season is 42’10, while a mark of 126’07 is the best toss in the discus and a throw of 137’01 is the best in the javelin.

At State last year Dalinghaus earned second in the shot put and third in both the javelin and discus in Class 3A, while helping the lady Thunder placed third as a team. As a sophomore she snagged a pair of fifth place performances in the javelin and shot put.

Kaley looks to continue her strong senior year and push her way towards another trip to State to compete for another top flight performance to cap her career.
