Mariah Murdie

Jeff West lady Tigers pounced on the Big Seven League girls track title last week and were led by several top notch performances.

Junior, Mariah Murdie was right at the front of the big time performances for the Tigers as she won three individual events and also was part of a Tiger relay team that earned gold. Behind times of 15.50 and 49.96 Murdie swept the 100 and 300 meter hurdles League titles and also posted a leap of 37’02.50 to win the triple jump crown. The junior didn’t stop there as she partnered up with three of track teams and competed in the 4x400 meter relay for the lady Tigers and earned first placed with a time of 4:15.96.

Throughout the season in five meets Murdie notched third second place or better in both hurdle events and the triple jump, while being a part of multiple first place performances for the 4x400 meter relay.

Last year at the State track competition in Wichita in Class 4A competition Murdie medal in the triple jump and 100 meter hurdles earning third and fourth place finishes, respectively.

Murdie looks to build upon her strong performances at League as she and her track teammates gear up for the track Regionals on Friday, May 19th at Baldwin.
