In the first match of the day at Regionals Holthaus and Williams dispatched KC Sumner 6-0, 6-0 and then in the Quarterfinals won 6-1, 6-2 over Spring Hill. In the Semifinals a team from the host school Hayden stood in front of Holly and Avery and the gals posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory to make the Championship bout. In the Championship match Holthaus and Williams downed Baldwin 6-0, 6-0 to take the Regional crown.

The win Regional title qualifies Holthaus and Williams for 4A State who both competed at the 3-2-1A State tournament last year in doubles competition also. The tandem heads to State with a 23-10 record on the season and riding a strong wave of momentum after the Regional title and also the Doubles #1 crown at the North Central Kansas League meet where Marysville won the NCKL title as a team.

Holthaus and Williams look to cap their season and tennis high school careers with a strong performance at the 4A State tournament set for October 13th and 14th in Pratt at Walter Blake Tennis Complex.
