Madison Lueger
|
Just two years ago in her sophomore season, Centralia’s Madison Lueger set the school record in the javelin with a throw of 142 feet, 4 inches while also taking first at the state meet.
In the Panther’s first meet of the year at Frankfort this season, Lueger shattered her own school record with a toss of 149 feet, 8 inches which currently sits as the top throw in Class 1A.
She followed that up with another first place finish last week at the Valley Heights Invitational, taking the top spot once again in the javelin with a throw of 136 feet, 5 inches.
Lueger is looking to repeat as a 1A State Champion, after she set the state record in the meet with a toss of 144 feet, 2 inches.
That state record was quickly broken last season and is held by Olathe North's Dana Baker at 175 feet, 6 inches.
She is signed to continue her career at the next level for the University of Nebraska Track & Field Team and will look to continue her strong senior season and capture a third consecutive state championship.
