It’s been a rough start to the 2019 season for the Valley Falls volleyball team but last week the Dragons got on track and pick a pair of big Northeast Kansas League wins.
A big reason for the success last week was the play of senior Jaci Brinker who posted 18 kills in a 3-set win over McLouth before recording two aces and 23 kills in a 3-set win over Maur Hill-Mount Academy.
The two wins pushed the Dragons record to 3-8 on the season but an even 3-3 in NEKL play with around a month remaining in the regular season.
As to Brinker she has been named a first team all-NEKL selection the past two season and was even an honorable mention all-league selection her freshman season.
She was also named a second team all-state selection a year ago by the Kansas Volleyball Association after leading Valley Falls to a 32-8 record and a second-place finish in the NEKL.
Brinker and the Dragons will look to keep rolling on the right track Tuesday night hosting a league triangular with Jackson Heights and Pleasant Ridge.
