Cayden Jackson

Cayden Jackson of the Holton Wildcats also earns the accolade this week for his performance in the Wildcats’ 36-0 win over Girard last Friday night.

Jackson plays tight end of offense but is one of the senior leaders of the Wildcats defense at linebacker. Jackson registered 15 total tackles, 10 solo, three tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery against Girard.

Holton’s defense posted their second straight shutout with the win holding Girard to just 126 total yards when they entered the game averaging 35 points per game and over 340 yards per game.

They forced five turnovers, four in the first half when Girard entered the game having only committed five turnovers all season.

Jackson leads the Wildcats defense in tackles and sacks this season and was just named Big 7 All-League honorable mention at linebacker.

Holton is now 11-0 for the first time since 2013 and in the Sub-State round in Class 3A for a second straight season. Wildcats will travel to Frontenac on Friday night with a trip to the State Championship game on the line.
