B&B Lady Falcons Fly High to State Volleyball Crown One Last Time
B&B Falcons Volleyball

I think B&B Falcon senior, Laura Sudbeck summed it up quite well have the Falcons won the Class 1A-Division II State volleyball title for the third straight year by saying their wasn’t any other choice but to win and that the Falcons did.

Flying high one last time the lady Falcons three-peated as 1A-Division II State champs by going 5-0 at the state competition and setting a new school record for most wins in a single season as they finished the season 42-3 on the year.

The quest for a storybook season started and the Falcons flew past many opponents all season, only losing three matches all year, while winning the Hiawatha and Valley Invitationals, the regular season Twin Valley League title and took home second place at the TVL tournament.

After winning sub-state and punching their ticket back to Hays the lady Falcons opened up the state tourney as the number one seed and dispatched Ingalls in straight sets (25-17, 25-18), then swatted the Hornets of Dighton in three sets (24-26, 25-13, 25-16) and finished pool play 3-0 by clipping the wings of the Bluejays of St. John’s/Tipton.

Moving on to the semifinals B&B hit the court against Logan and was dialed in from the start cruising past the Trojans in straight sets (25-13, 25-8). That setup up a matchup against the Dighton Hornets again this time for the State title and the Falcons squashed the Hornets in straight sets (25-15, 25-16) to capture the 1A-Division II State title.

The girls and coaches who had formed a family atmosphere as a team displayed plenty of emotions after the game as the senior-laden B&B Falcons, accomplished their goal of a three-peat and going out on top in the final year of B&B high school adding another trophy to the case.
