Southeast Community College Golfers Qualify For National Tournament

 The Region IX National Junior College Championships were shortened to a 36-hole event in Sterling, Colorado this week due to the weather.

Southeast Community College of Beatrice shot a team score of 6-under par to win the team title with a 36-hole total of 570, 55 shots better than second place.

Individually Storm golfers had the top four scores led by Liam Chambers who shot a 9 under par 63 for first place with a two-day total of 136.  HTRS graduate Calvin Freeman was second with a total of 142, Zach Taylor was third at 144 and Mike Downey was 4th with a 148.  Austin Miller tied for 9th overall with a total of 154 for the Strom.

SCC now advances to the National Tornament May 21st – 24th at Goose Pond Colony Golf Club in Scottsboro, Alabama.
