With the cross country regular season nearing an end teams and runners will set their sights on the league meets and regional action, where they will look to shoot for state.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) have announced the regional assignments for the the respective classes for cross country. Only one Kanzaland area team will be hosting a regional that comes in Class 2A, where Washington County will host the regional that features all the Class 2A Kanzaland area schools.

In Class 4A there are two regionals that will feature Kanzaland area teams as the Atchison, Holton, Royal Valley, Jefferson West and Perry Lecompton will race at Bonner Springs. One other Kanzaland school from the Big Seven in Class 4A will be competing as Santa Fe Trail will run in the Garnett-Anderson County regional.

Class 3A, all the Kanzaland area schools that are in this classification will be all running against each other at Riley County, while all the Kanzaland area Class 1A runners will also be running at Riley County.

Regional cross country meets are set for October 20th at their respective sites with races beginning around 10:30am.
