Falls City softball coach Joe Dunn called today’s 3-2 loss to Class C top ranked Fairbury in the district tournament the most heartbreaking of his career.
The Tigers led 2-0 going into the 6th inning but the top-ranked Jeffs came back to get the win in 7 innings. Falls City is now 21-10 on the season, Fairbury is 21-7.
The Tigers now drop down to the losers bracket and are playing Southern for the right to go against Fairbury again. If Falls City wins the game with the Raiders they take on Fairbury at 4 p-m. Falls City would have to beat the Jeffs twice to claim the District title. The second game would be at 6 p-m.
