It was a season of baseball that saw plenty of competitive teams in the Northeast Kansas area and a pair of them had top four finishes at their respective State competitions. With the season and high school sports year in the rear view mirror the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches has handed out their All-Class honors.

Eleven area players from five area teams earned All-Class honors in Classes 4A-DII, 3A and 2-1A.

In Class 4A-DII, it was Big Seven League team the Perry Lecompton Kaws enjoying quite a remarkable season as they finished as runner-up at the State tournament, won the Big Seven League title and finished the year with a 21-4. Washburn commit, Zach Linquist led the postseason honors for the Kaws as he was named first team All-Class 4A-DII at Closer and earned the Player of the Year honors from the KABC, also. Linquist eye popping numbers of a 0.26 ERA, giving up just three runs on the year helped him earn Player of the Year honors; only one of the three runs were earned. Zach was 3-0 on the year with two saves and 48 strikeouts. His teammate Drew Scrimsher earned All-Class honors at pitcher, also as he was named to the second team. Scrimsher was 6-0 on the mound for the Kaws with a 1.65 ERA, striking out 45 on the year, while giving up just 35 hits.

The Jeff West Tigers finished second in the Big Seven League this year behind the Kaws and lost to Perry in the Regional Championship finishing the season 17-3. A pair of Tigers earned KABC All-Class honors as Wyatt Miller was named first team at second base and Brent Roberts earned second team honors at both pitcher and outfield. At second base, Miller carried a .442 batting average on the season with 23 hits, scoring 35 runs and drawing 23 walks, while stealing 18 bases. Roberts on the mound was 7-2 for the Tigers with a 1.00 ERA, giving up 21 hits and 11 walks, while striking out 53.

Class 3A it was a pair of Oskaloosa Bears earning All-Class honors from the KABC after finishing the season 11-11 and making the Regional semifinals in the Silver Lake Regional. Bryce Stottlemire earned first team honors at outfield, while his teammate Luis Rodriguez was named to the second team at utility. Stottlemire packed a punch offensively for the Bears posting a batting average of .524 with 33 hits, 30 runs scored, and 25 RBI's, while Rodriguez touted an average of .500 for the Bears with 39 hits, 26 RBI', 38 runs scored and 21 stolen bases on the season.

In Class 2-1A both Valley Falls and Troy enjoyed great seasons and both had players honored by the KABC. Four Valley Falls Dragons earned All-Class postseason honors in 2-1A after finishing the season 21-1, Regional runner-ups and Northeast Kansas League champs.
