Five Twin Valley League teams and one non-area team squared off against each other on the volleyball court on Saturday at the Frankfort Invitational.

The number #2 team in Class 2A at the end of the day claimed the round-robin Frankfort Invitational as the Washington County Tigers finished the day 5-0 in competition. Tigers took down all their opponents in straight sets on the day topping Wetmore (25-15, 25-21), Onaga (25-13, 25-10), Doniphan West (25-18, 25-11), Frankfort (25-16, 25-12) and Veritas Christian (25-8, 25-10).

The host Frankfort Wildcats finished with the silver on the day going 4-1, with their lone loss to Washington County. Wildcats picked up straight set wins over Doniphan West (25-17, 25-22) and Veritas Christian (25-23, 25-8) but needed three sets to dispatch Onaga (21-25, 25-17, 25-19) and Wetmore (25-22, 18-25, 25-23).

Onaga Buffaloes grabbed third place on the day going 3-2 on the day with losses to only Frankfort and Washington County. Onaga won their other three matches but had to use three sets to win each one of them, taking down Veritas Christian (25-18, 22-25, 25-13), Doniphan West (14-25, 25-20, 28-26) and Wetmore (16-25, 25-7, 25-3).

Doniphan West, Wetmore and Veritas Christian finished out the team standings finishing fourth, fifth and sixth place on the day respectively. The Mustangs finished the competition 2-3, picking up a straight set win over Wetmore (25-23, 25-19) and a straight set win over Veritas Christian (25-20, 26-24). For Wetmore, the Cardinals finished 1-4 at the Frankfort Invitational and beat Veritas Christian for their lone win winning in three sets (18-25, 25-22, 25-19). Veritas Christian finished the day 0-5 in competition.

The five Twin Valley League teams now turn their attention back to League play coming this next week.
