Trio of Kansas Teams Lead State Football Rankings
By Justin Fluke

While only three local Northeast Kansas football teams are found in the latest high school rankings entering week seven, those schools are found at or near the top of their class.  Holton remains #1 in Class 4A, while B&B is still #1 in 8-Man Divison Two, and Centralia-Wetmore is sitting #2 in Class 2A.  All three area teams are unbeaten and have dominated in 18 combined contests.

Also still unbeaten from the area is Riverside, who has locked up a DVL-North title.  The Cyclones; however, have had four games decided by a single score and will take on Big 7 League foes the next two weeks in district play (at Sabetha, vs. Hiawatha).

One loss teams that continue to receive state votes and recoginition include McLouth in Class 2A as the Bulldogs are still undefeated in the DVL-South.  Also Nemaha Valley, who completed an undefeated Big 7 campaign last week with their fifth straight victory and fourth coming by a fourth quarter rally.  In 8-Man, Clifton Clyde and Hanover each have just one defeat and continue to sit just outside the top five ranks.

There are a few other area teams that have just two losses this season and some are still being mentioned as others receiving votes in state rankings including: ACCHS, Jeff County North and Hiawatha.  Jackson Heights, MH-MA, BLue Valley Randolph adn Atchison High.
