Sabetha Girl's Tennis Takes Second at Hayden Quad

The lady Sabetha Bluejays took to the courts to continue their tennis season on Tuesday and came away with another solid performance this year, taking second at the Hayden Quad behind a trio of second places in competition.

In doubles competition both Bluejay tandems posted 2-1 records to finish second place in their respective competitions. The team of Jordyn Wells and Alexa Menold competed in doubles #1 competition and picked up wins against Bishop Miege, 8-3 and Ottawa 8-5, while falling to the host Hayden 8-3 to finish 2-1 on the day. In doubles #2, it was the tandem of Jena Winkler and Nicole Brey also going 2-1, beating Bishop Miege 8-1 and Ottawa 8-2 for their two wins and falling to Hayden 8-3 for second place.

On the singles side of competition, Courtney Plattner picked up a second place performance for the Bluejays in the singles #2 competition by going 2-1 in competition. Plattner earned wins against Bishop Miege and Ottawa, winning each match 8-3, while falling to Hayden 8-0. While in singles #1 competition Lexi Wenger earned a third place finish going 1-2 on the day with her lone win coming against Ottawa, 8-0, while falling to Bishop Miege, 8-2 and Hayden, 8-1.

The Bluejays are schedule to continue their season Wednesday, October 1st at the Washburn Rural Invitational.
