Pleasant Ridge Wins Home Wrestling Invite, Jeff West Takes Second

Four area teams, along with two other teams hit the mats on Saturday at the Pleasant Ridge wrestling Invitational and at the end of the day behind six individual first place finishes the host Pleasant Ridge Rams took home first place. The Jeff West Tigers took second place as a team on the day at the Invitational.

Six different Rams posted 5-0 records at their respective weight classes and earned first place in the process as Luke Oatney (106lbs), Devin Dorr (113lbs), Colt Evans (138lbs), Nic Bridges (145lbs), Nick Hyde (160lbs) and David Medley (285lbs) all placed first. Dustin Graham (182lbs) and Corbin Meyers (152lbs) who posted 4-1 and 3-2 records, respectively notched second and third place performances for Pleasant Ridge on their home mats. Devin Culbertson of the Rams JV team wrestled in Immaculata's free spot at 285lbs and placed second at 285lbs with a 4-1 record.

The Jeff West Tigers on the day were led by a pair of first place finishes as both Ryan Wisner (132lbs) and Nick Reeb (152lbs) posted 5-0 records to take first. Six other varsity Tiger grapplers earned second place finishes after going 4-1, as Lucas Holloman (106lbs), Austin Michaelis (113lbs), Branden Callahan (126lbs), Tyler Casto (138lbs), Nathan Taylor (145lbs) and Chase Montgomery (160lbs) all earned second. Kody Gibson (120lbs) and Keith Davy (170lbs) both earned third place finishes for the Tigers going 3-2 in action. Three Tiger JV grapplers wrestled in open spots at their weight classes and finished second for Caden Hansen at 132lbs and third for Cohl Bohannan (145lbs) and Shane Kelly (106lbs).

Riverside Cyclones on the day were highlighted by Scott Resler (126lbs) who worked his way to a 5-0 record and took home first place. Derrick Karn (120lbs) grabbed a second place finish going 4-1, while Jacob MacKnight (160lbs), Donovan Duncan (182lbs), Braxton Goacher (195lbs), Jayden McCall (220lbs) and Spencer Norris (285lbs) all placed third in their weight classes going 3-2.

Immaculata's lone grappler that brought home a Top three finish was Max Campbell who won his weight classes of 170lbs going 5-0 on the mats.
