The Jeff West Tigers boy’s golf team teed it up on Tuesday at the Olpe Invitational and competed against 15 other schools, taking sixth place as a team out of the 14 schools that competed with full teams.

On the way to a sixth place team performance with a combined score of 367 it was Connor Mickens leading the charge for the Tigers registering a second place performance finishing with a 79, which was tied for the best round on the day but via the tie-break/playoff Mickens took second out of 83 competitors.

Cooper Mickens registered the second best performance for the Tigers shooting an 87 on the day to take 15th place. Hunter Overstreet was the only other Jeff West Tiger to finish under the century mark as he posted a round of 98, placing 43rd. Finishing off the Tigers four-man team score as Zachary Murdock who shot a 103 on the day to place 52nd individually. Preston Stanley and Skyler Miller each tallied a round of 111 for Jeff West as the also competed at the Olpe Invitational.

Burlington took first as a team with a four-man score of 326, while Fredonia (347) and Eureka (350) placed second and third in the team standings.

Jeff West Tigers continue their golf season on Thursday at the Osage City Invitational.
