Pleasant Ridge Boys & Girls Both Take Sixth at Northern Heights Track Invite

The Pleasant Ridge Rams stepped outside of the area and competed in track action at the Northern Heights Invitational on Thursday against nine other schools, taking sixth place for both the girls and boys teams.

The lady Rams posted 54 total points at the meet to take sixth place just missing out on a tie for fourth by one point, while the boys notched 50 points missing out of fifth place by just two points. Chase County girls and Burlington boys claimed first place at the Northern Heights Invitational.

Four first place performances led the way for the Rams on the day with two coming each in the girls and boys competitions. The lady Rams were led by Grace McKinney won sprinted her way to wins in the 200 and 400 meter dashes after posting times of 27.02 and 1:04.11. While in the boys competition Pleasant Ridge picked up first place in the 4x100 meter relay behind a time of 45.72 and Nick Holmes leapt his way to the win in the triple jump with a leap of 38'07.75.

Thirteen more Top five performances were registered by Pleasant Ridge at the Northern Heights Invitational on Thursday. The girls 4x100 meter relay team brought home the silver, while the girls 4x800 meter relay team took fourth place and the boys 4x800 team grabbed a third place finish. Mallory Wagner picked up a bronze in the 100 meter dash, while also placing fifth in the high jump, while Colton Doty grabbed a fourth place finish in the boys javelin and fifth in the boys shot put.

Kristina Silvers raced her way to third place in the 3200 meter run, while Bridget Howard and Bailey Swinford each leapt to fourth and fifth place finishes in the girl’s triple jump. In boy’s action, Noah Tatershall took the bronze in the 300 meter hurdles, while Jagar Haack tossed his way to third in the shot put and Brandon Broddle placed fifth in the 100 meter dash.

The track season continues for the Rams next Friday, April 24th at the Eudora Invitational.
