Nemaha Central Wins Four Team Big Seven Boys Golf Quad at Sabetha

Four Big Seven teams teed it up in Sabetha on Monday and it was the Nemaha Central Thunder putting together the best team score to claim the competition crown.

The Thunder posted a 185 four-man team score to just eek out the win over the host Sabetha as the Bluejays tallied a team score of 187. Perry Lecompton and Hiawatha made it a close race for third place between themselves as the Kaws edged the Red Hawks by two strokes finishing with team score of 205 and Hiawatha posted a score of 207.

Individually the Bluejays earned the top two spots as Connor Epple shot the best round on the day with a 41 finishing at least four strokes ahead of everyone to take first place, while his teammate Reese Lierz took home second with a 45. A round of 50 and 51 rounded out the four-man score for Sabetha as Jonah Montgomery and Camden Wenger notched those two rounds, respectively. Noah Gurber and Brenden Rokey both also competed for Sabetha posting rounds of 53 and 58.

Nemaha Central on their way to a first place team finish were led by Austin Shepley and Dylan Enneking who shot rounds of 45 and 46 to finish fourth and fifth and medal, individually on the day. A round of 47 by both Zach Bradley and Michael Love each rounded out the Thuner four-man team score giving them first place. Blake Mohney notched a 48 and Tristan Allen shot a 53 also for the Thunder on Monday.

Perry Lecompton was led by an individual third place finish on the day as Jacob Morgison tallied a round of 45. Alex Haynes, Cooper Busey and Brett Koehler rounded out the four-man team for the Kaws with rounds of 48, 55 and 57, respectively, while Corey Shachelford and Christien Schmidt each posted scores of 67 for Perry Lecompton.

The Hiawatha Red Hawks four-man team score was led by the performance of Josh Sangrait who shot a 46, while Taylor Jacobsen posted a 48, Tom Nolte shot a 53 and Tarren Miller scored a 60. Keenan Hinton also competed for Hiawatha scoring a 66 on the day.
