Behind 13 first place finishes the Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens led the way at the Doniphan West track Relays on Tuesday winning both the girls and boys team titles, while competing against five other area teams and two others.
The lady Ravens picked up the team title by 25 points, finishing with 134 total points to take first place over the host Doniphan West Mustangs who tallied 109 points good for second place. Troy and Wetmore girls took third and fourth, while Horton, Centralia, Veritas Christian and St. Joseph Christian finished out the girls team standings. In the boys competition Maur Hill won by a wider margin, posting 135 points and winning by 45 points over Doniphan West who notched 90 points to take second. St. Joseph Christian and Wetmore boys took third and fourth, while Horton, Veritas Christian, Centralia and Troy finished out the boys team standings.
A pair of multi-event winners led the way for Maur Hill at the Doniphan West Relays as Jack Siebert and Nic Caudle each won a pair of individual events. Siebert picked up the win in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs with times of 5:01 and 11:08.15, while Caudle won the 400 meter dash and triple jump with marks of 53.36 and 39'10. The Raven boys also swept the relays posting times of 46.09, 3:56.51 and 10:01 to win the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays. Lady Ravens accomplished the same goal, sweeping the relay events as they posted times of 55.31, 4:26.01 and 10:48 to the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays. Grace Siebert, Avery Lewman and Kassie Johnson each won an individual event also, claiming the gold in the girls 800 meter run (2:33.99), 400 meter dash (1:03.55) and 100 meter hurdles (16.83).
The host Doniphan West Mustangs was led by Kenzie Blevins yet again as she won four events at a track meet for the fourth time this year claiming victory in the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 12.49 and 26.79, while leaping to wins in the long jump (16'01) and triple jump (34'09.75). Kenzie Boos paced her way to gold in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs notching times of 6:43.18 and 14:35.98, while Alyssa Clark tossed her way to the win in the javelin (106'00). In the boys competition both Lane Spiker and Kody Collins won multiple events as Spiker sprinted to the win in the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 11.22 and 23.48, while Collins swept the hurdles winning the 110 and 300 meter hurdles behind times of 16.11 and 45.86.
Three golds were earned by the Horton Chargers as Derrick Stone tossed his way to the win in the javelin (144'02) and leapt to the win in the long jump (18'10.75), while Daspin Bruning posted a throw of 34'00 to win the girls shot put.
Wetmore was led by Jeremy Hoelscher and Alisha Heitz on the day as Hoelscher won the boys 800 meter run (2:14.86) and Heitz notched the win in the girl’s discus (86'09).
Troy and Centralia each had won winner on the day as Brylee Weidmer won the girls 300 meter hurdles (54.38) for Troy and Logan Whetzal won the girls high jump (4'06).
