KS Class 4A 2015 Regional Track - Five Area Schools Have State Qualifiers

Class 4A Regional Track Results - Royal Valley Regional & KC Piper Regional

Five area schools will have representatives in Wichita next weekend at the State track meet in Class 4A competition after several athletes’ notched Top four finishes at their respective Regionals. Jeff West, Atchison and Perry Lecompton all competed at the KC Piper Regional, while Royal Valley hosted a Regional with Holton also competing there.

At the Royal Valley Regional the Holton Wildcats had four individuals and two relay teams earn spots at State, while Royal Valley had a trio of athletes punch their ticket to State.

The Wildcats were led by Regional titles by the girl’s 4x100 meter relay team after they posted a time of 50.25 and Indee Allen who won the boys triple jump title behind a leap of 43'08.50. Kimmie Snepp qualified for State in two events for Holton after taking second in the 100 meter dash and fourth in the 200 meter dash, while Holly Karn finished third in the girls 100 meter hurdles to earn a spot at State. Joining Allen at State for the Holton boys will be Luis Butto who placed fourth in the triple jump and the Wildcat boy’s 4x100 meter relay team which took third place at Regionals.

Royal Valley had Patrick Broxterman post the best performance on the day as he took third in the high jump and both Macy Putnam and Eugene Masquat behind fourth place finishes in the girls and boys 300 meter hurdles.

At the KC Piper Regional it was Perry Lecompton from the area leading the area teams as seven individuals and on relay team qualified for Class 4A State track. Leading the charge was a Regional title won by Austin Kurtz who behind a toss of 177'01 won the boys javelin. The Kaws 4x400 meter relay team posted a second place finish, while Cody Williams also earned a silver coming in the 400 meter dash. Following Williams in the 400 was Cole Kellum and Seth Surface in third and fourth, qualifying for State, too. Lexia Jamison, Abbi Folks and Taylor Ball all three earned spots at State for the lady Kaws as Jamison took second in the 800 meter run, Folks second in the triple jump and Ball fourth in the shot put.

Sarah Jaloma led the lady Red of Atchison as she won the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:17.41, claiming the Regional title and took second in the 3200 meter run to qualify for State in two events. Jailhlyn Bratton and Emily Jaloma each registered fourth place performances in the girl’s 400 meter dash and 300 meter hurdles, respectively to claim spots at State. For the Redman boys Jerel Rawls won the Regional title in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.89.

Jeff West saw a pair of athletes earn spots at State as Makayla Greene and Michael Majors each registered fourth place finishes, coming in the girls javelin and boys shot put, respectively.
