Mound City Girls Finish Third in Missouri State Track Meet

The Mound City Girls placed 3rd in the Missouri Class I State Track Meet in Jefferson City on Memorial Day weekend. 

Junior Emily Wedlock led the way for the Panthers with a pair of gold medals among the four she won at state. 

Wedlock swept the hurdle races winning gold in both the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles events. She also placed second in the long jump and ran the anchor leg of the 4 x 400 meter relay team that finished 3rd.  

In three state meets Wedlock has won the gold medal in both hurdle races each year.  In 2014 she also won a 6th place medal in the 200 meters and as a freshman she won a 3rd place medal in the 4 x 400 relay and was 3rd in the long jump. She has won 9 state track meet medal in three years.

Sophomore Tess Phillips was 7th in the pole vault; the 4 x 200 meter relay team of Mae Sanders, Phillips, Adrienne Messer and Carley Baker placed 7th; The 4 x 400 relay team of Kameron Freemyer, Baker, Messer and Wedlcok placed 3rd. 

Jordan Long of Nodaway-Holt was 3rd in the shot put.

For South Holt McKenzi Prussman, a senior was 4th in the pole vault.  

For Rock Port Megan Stevens, a sophomore was 6th in the 100 meter hurdles, and the 4 x 100 meter relay team of Jackie Bradley, Journi Burke, Megan Stevens and Madison Taylor paced 6th. 

In Boys results Brady Minter of Rock Port was 5th in the pole vault. 

Nali Tattersall of Nodaway-Holt 2as third in the long jump and the high jump and finished 4th in the triple jump.
