NEKL All-League Baseball & Softball Honors Awarded

The high school sports season has come to a close and the Northeast Kansas League has handed out its postseason baseball and softball All-League honors.

The Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens who made the Class 3A baseball State tournament and earn the NEKL co-championship lead the way with All-League baseball honors. Both Cole Siebenmorgen and Chase Behler earned All-League at pitcher, while Jake Schmidt got the nod at catcher and both Noah Baniewicz and Matthew Schrick earned All-League honors at outfield. Harry Trotter was named honorable mention at infield for the Ravens.

McLouth Bulldogs who finished as co-champs in the NEKL with Maur Hill had three baseball players earn All-League honors as Jace Carlton, Wyatt Herman and Dante Nelson each got the nod at utility/DH, infield and pitcher, respectively. Mclouth Bulldog, Sam Rainey earned honorable mention at outfield.

Both Oskaloosa and Immaculata had a pair of All-League baseball players and one more earn honorable mention. For the Bears, Justin Sharp and Luis Rodriguez were named All-League at pitcher and infield, while Dalton Van Houtan earned honorable mention at catcher. Tanner Karigan and Cory Holcomb earned All-League honors for Immaculata at infield and outfield, while Jacob Groover was named honorable mention at catcher.

Pleasant Ridge Ram, Tanner Morris and Valley Falls Dragon, Chris Gast both earned All-League at infield and outfield, respectively, while one their teammates Levi Black of Pleasant Ridge and Ty Jobbins of Valley Falls earned honorable mention honors at outfield and pitcher.

In softball it was McLouth that enjoyed one of the best season out of the NEKL as the lady Bulldogs finished third at State in Class 2-1A, representing the NEKL. The Bulldogs along with Oskaloosa and Valley Falls all had four players earn All-League honors and another player get honorable mention.

For the Bulldogs both Dominique Tullis and Angela Dailey earned All-League at outfield, while Shannon Greene and Shelby Turner got the All-League nod at pitcher and infield, respectively. Lucy McCleary earned honorable mention for McLouth.

Oskaloosa who won the NEKL was led by Haidyn Bassett, Maddie Miller, Brianna Brooks and Brylie Bassett who earned All-League honors at pitcher, infield, catcher and outfield, respectively. While Raegen Hammn earned honorable mention honors.

Valley Falls had a player earn All-League honors at pitcher, infield, outfield and utility/DH as Kacie Herring, Allison Kearney, Emily Lane and Josee Neiberger earn those honors at the those respective postitions. Paige Hall picked up honorable mention honors for the Dragons.

Both Maur Hill and Pleasant Ridge had one player earn All-League honors as Kendra Brull for the Ravens and Ashly Lingenfelser of the Rams both earned the honors at infield. Both schools each had another player earn honorable mention as Hailey Worthington of Pleasant Ridge and Ally Keimig of Maur Hill both got the honors, while Immaculata Raider, Kameron Cross also earned honorable mention honors.
