Over the weekend eight Twin Valley League 8-Man football seniors took to the football field one final time with several other 8-Man stars from across the State to represent the high school one final time in All-Star game action.

The day started off with the 8-Man Division II All-Star game in which the West topped the East 40-20 capitalizing on six turnovers by the East, while the East outgained the West in total yards 324 to 268. A pair of early turnovers led the too early lead by the West and they would not relinquish that lead going on for the win to snap a four-game losing streak for the West. Axtell and Linn were represented on the East squad with Shane Talbot, Tyler Jones and Andrew Feldkamp from Axtell and Grant Cook and Chad Gross from Linn. Talbot finished with 51 yards on 14 carries with an eight-yard TD run and caught one pass for nine yards, while Jones had two carries for 15 yards. Gross hauled in one pass for the East for 42 yards in the loss.

The Division I game proved to much more competitive and close down to the wire as the East won for the second straight year, securing the 40-38 victory of the West. The game started with the East establishing a 16-0 lead but the West would score the next two scores making it 16-14. Each team added another score before the half and it was 24-22 at halftime. After the East struck first in the second half the West posted two scores to take a 38-32 lead until with just under five minutes left the East tallied the final touchdown of the game to go on to win 40-38.

Hanover Wildcats, Andrew Bruna, Evan Zabokrtsky and Ethan Fristchi were slated to compete for the East team in the contest.
