As the regular season starts to come to an end a few Northeast Kansas League teams took to the field on Wednesday night, while a few others were affected by rain. 
 
Sabetha and Atchison were the only teams to get in their regularly scheduled double header as originally planned as they split the games in Atchison. Atchison claimed the victory in game one, 6-5 in nine innings, while Sabetha answered with a win in the nightcap, winning 4-3.
 
Oskaloosa hosted and Hiawatha and the teams were able to only get one game of the double header in as Oskaloosa need eight innings but earned the 6-5 win.
 
While the Doniphan County and Frankfort double header was canceled due to rain.
 
Sabetha and Atchison Split Double Header With Pair of One Run Games
 
It was some highly contested ball games on Wednesday night in Atchison as Sabetha and Atchison squared off on the diamond and both teams earned a one run win. Atchison took game one in nine innings, winning 6-5 while Sabetha picked up the 4-3 victory in the nightcap.
 
Chase Behler delivered the decisive blow in game one for Atchison notching a single for the walk-off in the nine inning of game one for the Atchison 6-5 win, while pitching into the seventh inning as the starter. Sabetha forced extras when Brandon Poe tied the game up for the Raptors with a solo homer in the top of the seventh, while leading Sabetha in the loss with three hits, while Preston Bruning chipped in a pair of hits. James Boatwright led Atchison's16-hit attack registering three hits in the win.
 
Sabetha bounced back in the nightcap as Alec Kirwan tossed a complete game seven-hitter helping lead the Raptors to the 4-3 win over Atchison. Despite only having three hits in the contest Sabetha delivered a run on an error and two on wild pitches, while Bruning had the biggest hit of the game with a RBI double. Atchison creeped close to Sabetha in the fifth plating two runs before the Raptors recorded an out, but Kirwan retired the next three batters after a Behler single, Harry Trotter triple and throwing error, giving Sabetha the 4-3 win.
 
The split pushes Sabetha to 10-26 overall this season, while Atchison moved to 10-10 on the year.
 
Oskaloosa Wins Tough Eight-Inning Game Over Hiawatha
 
It was a scheduled double header but the teams were able to only get one game in on the night as Hiawatha traveled to Oskaloosa and it took eight innings to decide the winner as Oskaloosa picked up the 6-5 win.
 
Hiawatha got on the board early with two runs in the top of the first using two singles and three walks, but Oskaloosa quickly answered back with three in the bottom of the first on two hits, four walks and a wild pitch, making it 3-2. Oskaloosa added a run in the next two frames to lead 5-2, before Hiawatha broke through again scoring a pair of runs in the sixth and one more in the top of the seventh to force extra innings. In the bottom of the eight Oskaloosa got the first two guys on via a walk and error and advanced them a base on a fielder's choice, when Kyle Hopkins stepped to the plate and delivered the a one-out walk-off single to score Tyler Moison and give Oskaloosa the 6-5 win.
 
Hopkins led the Oskaloosa offense with a 2-3 performance with a double, two RBI's and a walk, while Bryce Stottlemire was 2-2 with an RBI and run scored and earned the win on the mound going all eight innings. Stottlemire surrendered five runs (two earned) on eight hits, six walks and struck out 13. Hiawatha in the loss was led by Ryker Smith who was 3-4 with three RBI and a run scored and Dakota Bayles finished 2-4, while pitching six and one-third innings in relief taking the loss.
 
Oskaloosa with the win improved to 15-15 on the season, while Hiawatha fell to 9-17 on the year.
