Four weeks of action is in the books in the high school football season and District play is starting for some teams in 8-Man and 2-1A, while it's on the horizon for the other classes. This week four area teams are in at least one set of rankings across the State with many others getting attention.

Class 4A-Division II the Holton Wildcats beat Hiawatha 34-6 in week four to improve to 2-2 on the season and are ranked third in the VarsityKansas and Kpreps polls, while ranked fourth by Kansasprepfootball ad fifth in the Topeka-Capital Journal. The Royal Valley Panthers after a 46-12 win over McLouth last week are 3-1 and getting attention in many polls and broke into the Kansasprepfootball poll at fifth this week in 4A-DII. Jeff West also out of the Big Seven League is getting attention in the polls as they are 2-1 on the season.

In Class 4A-Division I the Atchison Redmen are 4-0 to start the year and turning heads in some polls as they are in the others to watch category.

No area team has broken into the Class 3A poll this season yet but many are perhaps on the cusp after strong starts to the season. Nemaha Central and Washington County have both started the season 4-0 after wins last week over ACCHS (54-6) and Valley Heights (38-12), respectively and both teams are teams to watch in 3A. While, Centralia topped Doniphan West 44-15 last week to move to 3-1 on the season and Pleasant Ridge after a 40-14 win over Christ Prep also is 3-1 and getting attention.

Just like 3A, Class 2-1A currently does not have an area team in the rankings but Troy, Jackson Heights and Doniphan West are receiving attention in the rankings. The Trojans are 3-1 on the season after a week four 34-12 win over Onaga and Jackson Heights is 3-1 after beating Oskaloosa 40-24 in week four. Doniphan West is 2-2 on the year and fell to Centralia 44-15 in week four.

The Hanover Wildcats continue to be ranked in 8-Man Division I as they check in at number one in the Topeka-Capital Journal poll, but come in at third in the Kansasprepfootball and VarsityKansas polls and rank fourth in the Kpreps rankings. Wildcats are 4-0 on the season after blasting past Blue Valley in week four with a 58-0 win.

In 8-Man Division II the Axtell Eagles are ranked fourth in the VarsityKansas poll, but on the outside looking in the polls this week. The Eagles topped St. Joseph Christian 34-22 in week four to improve to 3-1 on the season.
