The League season rolled along on Tuesday in the Twin Valley League for volleyball as Centralia hosted Clifton-Clyde and Troy on Senior night for the Panthers. Centralia finished the night with a pair of wins, while Clifton-Clyde split their contests, as the Trojans fell in both affairs on the court.

The evenings action started with Centralia taking on Clifton-Clyde and the Panthers pounced on a 25-18, 25-14 win. Centralia led just 6-5 early in set one when the Panthers strung four-straight points together to lead 10-5 and Clifton-Clyde reeling called a early timeout. That run stretched to six-straight and the Panthers used that lead to hold off the Eagles for the set one win 25-18, despite Clifton-Clyde string nine-straight points together late in the first set. It was quick start to set two as Centralia led 4-0 and used that that to propel them to the set and match win as a double block by Cassidy Haufler and Mayda Stallbaumer was the final point of the match. Both Breanna Hasenkampa and Chelsea Huerter throughout the contest set up their teammates consistently well for the attack. Clifton-Clyde had Shaylea Lawson and Elizabeth Nobert combine on the set and kill multiple times in the contest.

The night's action continued with Clifton-Clyde taking on Troy in th second match of the night and it proved to be a highly contested two set matchup with the Eagles getting the win 25-19, 25-18. Set one was back and forth early tied at 5-5 and then at 9-9 and that's when the momentum swiftly moved to Clifton-Clyde as the Eagles behind the serving of Kaleigh Bloomfield went on an 8-0 run, that started tying the set at 9-9 and resulted in a 17-9 for the Eagles. Troy tried their best to get back into the set and had a pair of Holly Whetstine aces but fell 25-19 in set one. Set two started off well for Clifton-Clyde with Bloomfield serving up a pair of aces early but the set was tied at 8-8 and the teams traded leads throughout the match with neither team taking more than a two-point lead until late in the set when Clifton-Clyde went on another run getting up 23-17 and a service error by Troy proved to be the difference, as the Eagles won 25-18 in set two. Emily Coffman along with Nobert were active upfront for the Eagles in the win, while Troy had both Blair Weishaar and Caitlyn Anderson come up with multiple plays along with Whetstine.

To cap off the night Centralia hit the court again and took on Troy and earned the straight set win 25-17, 25-7. The Panthers worked out to a 17-11 lead in set one when Troy called a timeout to corral the troops but Centralia continued to push ahead and a Haufler ace sealed set one 25-17 for the Panthers. In set two Centralia took early control and cruised to the set and match win as Katie Glatczak was at the helm down the stretch for serving and she helped serve up the Panther set win 25-7, claiming the match. Tara Bergman was active all night coming up with multiple kills, while Drew Kramer continued to make plays at Libero for Centralia. For Troy in the loss Makayla Ross set up her teammates well all night and both Weishaar and Whetstine were quite active.

The wins move Centralia to 29-1 on the season and 10-1 in TVL action as only the contest versus Troy counted towards the League standings. While, Clifton-Clyde with a 1-1 night moved to 10-13 on the year and 6-5 in the TVL with only their matchup with Troy on the night counting in the League standings. Both contests counted as League affairs for Troy as they fell to 7-13 overall and 3-8 in the TVL.

Action continues for Troy on Thursday in non-league play at the Horton Quad with Valley Falls, Jackson Heights and the host Horton. While, Centralia and Clifton-Clyde will next hit the court on Tuesday, October 13th in League action as they will both be at the Washington County Quad with the host Tigers and Donpihan West.
