KSHSAA Announces 2016 & 2017 Football District Assignments

All the schools in the State of Kansas were represented in Salina on Wednesday for the bi-annual football meetings, awaiting the announce of the new football Districts for 2016 and 2017 seasons and looking to fill the rest of their schedules. 

Many teams are changing classifications in football from the area for the next two years. In the football classifications 11 schools are on the move for the 2016 and 2017 football seasons. Both Royal Valley and Perry Lecompton are moving down to Class 3A for football, while Immaculata will continue to partner with Maranatha for football and will be moving to 3A as a program. Four area schools are moving down to Class 2-1A for football as Centralia, McLouth and Washington County are moving back down and Horton will transition down to Class 2-1A, also. At the 8-Man level both Onaga and Valley Falls will transition from 11-Man to 8-Man next year and compete in the 8-Man Division I level. While, Hanover moves down to 8-Man Division II next year and Wetmore is added as an 8-Man program at the varsity level and will be competing in the Division II level.

Class 4A-Division I: 
District 1 – Atchison, Basehor-Linwood, Kansas City-Piper, Tonganoxie
 
Class 4A-Division II: 
District 1 – Santa Fe Trail, Holton, Meriden-Jefferson West, Topeka-Hayden
 
Class 3A: 
District 1 – Hiawatha, Sabetha, Seneca-Nemaha Central, Wathena-Riverside
District 2 – Maur Hill Mt. Academy, Pleasant Ridge, ACCHS, Immaculata/Shawnee-Marantha Academy
District 3 – Royal Valley, Oskaloosa, Perry-Lecompton, Silver Lake
District 13 – Beloit, Marysville, Minneapolis, Riley County
 
Class 2-1A:
District 1 – Doniphan West, Horton, McLouth, Troy, Jefferson County North
District 2 – Wabaunsee, Valley Heights, Centralia, Jackson Heights, Washington County

8-Man Division I:
District 3 – Burlingame, Clifton Clyde, Herington, Lost Springs-Centre, Onaga, Rural Vista (White City/Hope), Valley Falls
 
8-Man Division II: 
District 3 – Axtell, Frankfort, Hanover, Randolph-Blue Valley, Wakefield, Wetmore
District 4 – Beloit-St. Johns/Tipton, Linn, Rock Hills, Pike Valley, Southern Cloud (Miltonvale/Glasco), Tescott
