Atchison & Pleasant Ridge Runners Claim Top Spots at Pleasant Ridge Cross Country Invite

It was highly competitive action on the course at the Pleasant Ridge cross country Invitational on Thursday and many area teams put together solid performances. 

While the top team spots were claimed by non-area teams (Tonganoxie boys and Basehor-Linwood girls) the top individual spots went to area runners. 

Pleasant Ridge runner, Luke Oatney won the Rams home meet after registering a time of 16:33.42, helping the Rams also earn second place as a team in boys competition. Joining him with Top 20 finishes for Pleasant Ridge was Ronny Jared, Gabe Younger and Reid Herken who finished eighth (17:24.31), tenth (17:28.37) and 19th, respectively. Bridget Howard and Taylor Satre each picked up Top 20 finishes for Rams in the girls race placing 11th and 20th. 

Atchison was led by Sarah Jaloma again this season as the lady Red took third place as a team on the day with Jaloma claiming first place with a time of 20:05.49. Emily Jaloma and Haley Griebat picked up 14th and 15th place finishes for lady Red, while in the boys race Simon Holly led the Redmen placing sixth with a time of 17:16.07 and Matthew Sowers took 18th place. 

A pair of Top 10 finishes led Maur Hill-Mount Academy at the Pleasant Ridge Invitational as Jack Siebert earned third place in the boy’s competition with a time of 16:50.65 and Grace Siebert placed sixth behind a time of 21:26.30. 

Perry Lecompton's Lexia Jamison registered a silver medal on the day as she posted a time of 20:08.90 to take second. While in the boys action Bjorn Funk was the only Kaw with a Top 20 finish placing 17th. 

Four Top 20 finishes led McLouth on the day and that included a ninth place finish for Braeden Pfau as he posted a time of 17:26.83, while Tristan Funk and Jordan Butler earned 11th and 15th place finishes. In the girls race Ceara Funk notched a ninth place finish for the Bulldogs after posting a time of 21:39.22. 

The Jefferson County North Chargers also competed on the day and Carissa McAfee registered the top Charger finish picking up eighth place with a time of 21:37.22, while Evan Weishaar placed 20th in the boys competition. 

Valley Falls also competed at the Pleasant Ridge Invitational and their top performance as a 48th place by Matthew Branam.
