It was a highly anticipated matchup of unbeatens in the 3A playoffs in the Regional round on Saturday in Seneca as Nemaha Central hosted Rossville and while it was close for a half the second half was dominated by the defending 3A champs and the Bulldogs won 61-20.

The Thunder started the game with a solid drive getting into the Redzone but a Ryan Hasenkamp pass was picked off as he threw into double coverage in the endzone. Rossville then on their first offensive play off the game busted an 80-yard touchdown run by Tucker Horak and it was 7-0 with 5:46 left in the first quarter. The Bulldogs had a turnover of their own with a fumble and the Thunder recovered and on the next play it was a 48-yard strike from Hasenkamp to his tight end Dalton Hiltbrand and it was 7-6 after the missed extra point.

A 12-play drive was put together in the second quarter by Rossville and on a third and 11 play it was Horak hitting Dawson Hammes for an 11-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-6. The Thunder cut that lead back down on a trick play with 2:13 remaining in the first half as Dylan Steinlage hit Tristan Allen for a 38-yard touchdown pass but the two-point conversion was unsuccessful and it was Rossville leading 14-12. Nemaha Central turned the ball back to Rossville with 58 seconds left in the first half and the Bulldogs had an opportunity to score again but the Thunder defense held and it was 21-12 at the half.

The second half was one-sided as Rossville took the opening drive of the second half and visited the endzone less than two minutes into the second half on a Horak 23-yard run. Bulldogs added three more scores in the third with a 50-yard touchdown pass from Horak to Christian Roduner, a 43-yard touchdown run by Horak and 10-yard touchdown run by Roduner, making it 49-12 going into the final 12 minutes.

Trevor Blach and Hammes added 15 and three yard touchdown runs, respectively in the fourth quarter for Rossville. Nemaha Central was held to just 79 total yards of offense in the second half with two of their three turnovers in the contest.

Horak finished with 305 yards rushing 26 carries with four touchdowns and was 18-25 for 215 yards with two touchdowns as Rossville had 625 yards total offense. Rossville improved to 11-0 on the season and move on 3A Sectional round of playoffs.

Nemaha Central with the loss caps off their strong season with a 10-1 record and were led by Allen who had five catches for 122 yards with two touchdowns, earning him the Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" on KMZA. Hasenkamp finished 9-18 for 169 yards two touchdowns (3 interceptions) for the Thunder in the loss.

The Thunder capped off a season that included winning the Big Seven League title, ending Holton's Big Seven win streak, winning a District title and a playoff win, finishing 10-1 on the year.
