Gill Jr. Highlights Atchison KCA All-League Football Awards

The Kansas City-Atchison All-League football honors were handed out Monday, and the Atchison Redmen had two players earn player of the year honors.

Senior, Wykeen Gill Jr. was named the KCAL player of the year, while junior Adam Smith earned the league’s defensive player of the year award.

Gill Jr. orchestrated the Redmen to an 8-1 overall record and an undefeated KCAL title as the teams quarterback. He finished the season with 1,539 yards through the air, while also rushing for 950 yards, and 37 total touchdowns.

Smith anchored the backline of the Redmen defense finishing with 103 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and four interceptions.
