(KLZA)-- A total of eight Husker student-athletes will compete at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships March 11-12 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.

Among them will be Auburn native and Big 10 Champion Tierra Williams qualified in the triple jump.

Williams begins the triple jump at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The junior jumper was a standout performer at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, winning both the long jump and triple jump to score 20 of the 48 team points for the Husker women. Williams won the triple jump with a personal-best 43-2 1/2 (13.17m), which ranks No. 7 all-time at Nebraska. Williams took up triple jump for the first time in her career this season and became the first Husker to win two individual titles at a conference meet since Mara Griva won the long and triple jump in 2013. Her long jump mark was 20-7 3/4 (6.29m), matching her season best.
