Maur Hill & Immaculata Claim Top Spots at MH-MA Boys Golf Invite

On a beautiful Tuesday afternoon area boys golf teams teed it up in Atchison as Maur Hill-Mount Academy hosted golf action. 

The host Ravens at the end of the came out on top of the competition with the best four-man team score. Maur Hill notched a 335 to win the four-man team score by 21-strokes over Holton who took home second place. Immacualta was only three-strokes behind Holton in third place, while a team score of 413 gave Bonner Springs fourth place. Hiawatha, Horton and Atchison finished fifth, sixth and seventh place with team scores of 439, 455 and 459, respectively. 

While, Maur Hill claimed the top team spot it was Immaculata notching the best two individual rounds on the day for first and second place as Evan Wheaton and Dawson Schroeder posted rounds of 76 and 79, respectively for the Raiders. 

Five guys did grab Top 10 finishes for the host Maur Hill led by an 80 by Sam Sowers who took third place, while Canyon Miller and Patrick Sullivan each carded an 83 to finish fourth and fifth, respectively. Christian Wessel and Daniel DeLuna with rounds of 89 placed eighth and ninth at their home Invitational. 

Three Holton Wildcats earned Top 10 finishes on the day as Hayden May and AJ Haussler posted rounds of 86 and 87, respectively to finish sixth and seventh, while Brian Nelson with a 90 on the day earned tenth place. 

For the three other area teams: Hiawatha, Horton and Atchison it was rounds of 104, 103 and 105 that led by in competition. A 104 by Lukas Holiday led Hiawatha, while Cameron Smith carded a 103 for the best round for Horton and a 105 was the best round for Atchison posted by Jase Nelson.
