Immaculata Repeats as 1A Boys Golf State Champs Leading Area Performances at State

The defending State Champs the Immaculata Raiders and several Twin Valley League schools hit the links representing the area on Monday in the Class 1A State Tournament in Fort Leavenworth at Trails West golf course. 

Leading the area performances and the team performances at State was the Immaculata Raiders who repeated as 1A State Champions behind a team score of 347 winning by eight-strokes. Evin Wheaton led the Raiders individually posting an 82 to take fourth, while Dawson Schroeder and Ian Wheaton carded rounds of 83 and 87 to place seventh and tenth place. Jacob Murphy and Justin Varney posted rounds of 95 each to finish 25th and 26th, respectively. 

Centralia Panthers notched a fourth place team showing at State behind a team score of 369 and were led by Ryan Vernon who closed out his Panther golfing career with a fifth place finish at State posting an 82. Jason Gore snagged a Top 20 finish placing 17th with a round of 92. Otto Nermo, Kobe Rumbo and Sean Rempe finished 28th, 35th and 39th for the Panthers notching rounds of 96, 99 and 101, respectively, while Jared Schmitz also competed for Centralia finishing 82nd with a 140. 

Linn Bulldog, Andrew Meyer with an 88 took home 13th place at the 1A State Tournament, while his teammate Andrew Meyer placed 27th behind a 96. 

Frankfort Wildcat, Austin Hardwick finished just outside the Top 20 posting a round of 96 to finish 23rd, while his teammate Brandon Anderson placed 48th with a 105 at State. 

Onaga Buffaloes made State as a team placing eighth with a team score of 419. Jace Fischer led Onaga placing 31st with a 97 on the day, while Ben Kufahl carded a even 100 to place 38th. Trenton Ross, James Johnson, Jaxon Schlegel and Jaiden Kolterman posted rounds of 108, 114, 122 and 122 to place 52nd, 60th, 69th and 70th at State.
