Axtell & Maur Hill Senior Volleyball Athletes Selected to Play in KVA All-Star Game

Two area senior volleyball players have been selected to compete in the annual Kansas Volleyball Association All-Star game coming up on June 4th at Lee Arena on the Washburn University campus. 

Axtell Eagle senior, Courtney Heinen and Maur Hill-Mount Acadmey senior, Carly Taylor both have been selected among several other top volleyball players from across the State of Kansas to participate in the annual KVA All-Star game that has been around for over 30 years. 

Heinen helped Axtell have their best finish in school history this year finishing 32-11 and Class 1A-Division II State runner-up. Courtney on the year racked up 248 kills for the Eagles, while recording 468 digs, 38 aces, 28 blocks and 31 assists and was named second team All-State in 1A-DII by the KVA. The Eagle senior will look to continue her athletic career at Cloud County Community College next year. 

Taylor guided Maur Hill to a 27-11 record this past season and earned 3A All-State KVA honors. The Maur Hill senior notched 617 digs on the season, along with 133 assists, 79 aces and 46 kills. Carly is set to continue her volleyball career at Benedicitine College next year. 

Both Heinen and Taylor will represent their respective high school one final time in volleyball action at the KVA All-Star game on June 4th at 6:30pm at Washburn University.
