Former B&B Falcon, Cody Heiman enters his senior season for the Washburn Ichabods and does so garnering national honors as he was named second team All-American on the D2Football.com preseason All-American team.

Heiman who helped Baileyville to two 8-man football State titles and a pair of runner-up performances during his four years at B&B has been an impact player at Washburn the last three years after suffering an injury in 2012. Cody in 2013 transitioned from linebacker to runningback for the Ichabods and made an impact in the running game rushing for 426 yards on 91 carries with six touchdowns in 11 games. The former Falcon transitioned back to linebacker in 2014 and last year played that roll also and has amassed 150 career tackles (77 solo) for Washburn with 9.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions and earned second team All-MIAA honors last year. The senior has played in 35 games for the Ichabods with 24 starts.

Washburn enters the season looking to improve upon a 5-6 record last year and Heiman looks to help lead the Ichabod defense as they open their season on Thursday, September 1st at home in Yager Stadium as they host Northeastern State University at 6:00pm.
