Two weeks into the football season teams are starting to learn more about themselves and we've seen many competitive games, blowouts and thrillers. This week across the rankings four Northeast Kansas area teams are in polls. 

Troy and Hanover continue to lead the area teams in the rankings, while Atchison and Washington County find themselves in a few rankings. 

The Trojans after a week two 68-12 drubbing of ACCHS are 2-0 and remain ranked #1 in Class 2-1A by VarsityKansas, Kansasprepfootball.com, Topeka-Capital Journal, CatchItKansas and Kpreps. Fellow Twin Valley League team in the Washington County Tigers are ranked fourth by the Capital Journal and fifth by Kpreps and CatchItKansas this week after a 2-0 start to the year beating Riley County 22-18 last week. Jackson Heights Cobras who are also 2-0 are getting attention in the 2-1A polls, along with a 2-0 Jefferson County North team. 

Hanover Wildcats were idle last week and sit at 1-0 after a week one win over Lebo and continue to also sit in the #1 spot in the 8-Man Division II ranks by VarsityKansas, Kpreps, Kansasprepfootball.com and Capital Journal, while ranking second in the CatchItKansas Top 10.

Atchison is the only other area team in the rankings this week as the Redmen are ranked fifth by VarsityKansas and Kansasprepfootball.com in Class 4A-Division I and sixth in the CatchItKansas Top 10. The Redmen took down KC Sumner 51-8 last week to open KCAL play and move to 2-0 on the year. 

While in Class 3A no area team has broke into the Top five yet in the polls but both Sabetha and Nemaha Central are knocking on the door with 2-0 starts to the season for each team.
