Several area teams bump the volleyball up on Saturday in tournament action as Hiawatha hosted 10 teams. 

At the end of the day it was the Centralia Panthers snagging another tournament title and winning the Hiawatha Invitational again as they have the past few years. Host Hiawatha took second and Immaculata placed third with Jefferson County North took fourth. 

The day rolled out with pool play action to get the tournament going. In the Blue Pool it was Centralia going 4-0 to win the pool beating Hiawatha, Riverside, Atchison and Troy all in straight sets. Host Hiawatha Red Hawks took second in the pool to advance to the Semifinals with Centralia as Hiawatha posted a 3-1 mark in pool play with straight set wins over Troy, Riverside and Atchison. Atchison won a pair of straight set matches against Troy and Riverside to go 2-2, while Troy snagged a straight set win over Riverside. 

The Red Pool belonged to the JCN Chargers who notched a 4-0 performance in pool play to win the pool beating Immacualta, Horton and Doniphan West each in straight sets, while needing three sets to take down Lafayette. Immaculata with a 3-1 pool play finished second in the pool, picking up straight set wins against Doniphan West and Horton, while beating Lafayette in three sets. Horton posted a 2-2 day with a three set win over Lafayette and a straight set win against Doniphan West, while Lafayette beat Doniphan West in straight sets. 

In the Semifinals the level of play was high with some strong matches. Centralia trailed Immaculata early in set one but battled back to snag the set and then the match in straight sets 32-20, 25-20. While Hiawatha on their home court surprised JCN in straight sets 25-16, 25-19 in the Semi's. 

The Championship was a pool play rematch of Centralia and Hiawatha and once again the Panthers grabbed the win to win the tournament and remain unbeaten on the year; winning the Championship match 25-14, 25-21. In the third place match Immaculata avenged a pool play loss with a three set win over JCN, 25-20, 12-25, 25-23 to take third.
