Atchison girl’s tennis team hit the courts again this season competing at the Desoto Tournament over the weekend and played in a Regional style setting with bracket play action in the tournament. 

In Singles action it was Stormy Knott and Olivia Wabski competing on for Atchison both going 1-2 in action. Knott in Singles #1 fell 6-8 to Lansing in the first round, but bounced back with an 8-0 win over Leavenworth competitor, but finished the day with a 5-8 loss to another competitor from Leavenworth. Wabski lost her first match of the day falling 4-8 to host Desoto competitor in Singles #2 but picked up an 8-4 win in her next match over Ottawa before wrapping up the day with a 2-8 loss to Bonner Springs. 

In doubles competition the duo of Brianna Dove and Reece Dulac posted a 1-2 day in Doubles #2 competition. Dove and Dulac fell to KC Christian 0-8 in their first match of the day, but bounced back with a tough 8-7 (8-6) win over Ottawa then finished the day with a 3-8 loss to Desoto. Doubles #1 featured the team of Alyxus Thomas and Hailey Lewis for Atchison who posted a 0-2 day falling 0-8 to Leavenworth and then 2-8 to another team from Leavenworth.
