Area teams hit the volleyball court for their final regular season tournament action on Saturday as Sub-State looms next Saturday with just a few regular season contests left next week. Sabetha played host to several area teams and a few others for tournament action on Saturday.

Leading the way for the area teams was the Marysville Bulldogs as they were the only area team to make it out of pool play and finished fourth place. The Bulldogs went 3-1 in pool play beating Sabetha and Holton each in three sets and topping Hiawatha in straight sets, while falling to St. Mary's in three sets. In the Semifinals the Bulldogs suffered a straight set loss to Concordia and faced St. Mary's for the second time on the day this time for third place but fell in three sets again to finish the day 3-3 and fourth place.

Holton, Hiawatha and host Sabetha competed with Marysville and St. Mary's in the White pool but finished their day in pool play. The Wildcats posted a 2-2 day with a three set win over Sabetha and straight set win over Hiawatha for their two victories on the day, while Hiawatha went 1-3 with a three sets win over Sabetha as the Bluejays finished 0-4 on the day.

In the Blue pool it was Concordia and Wamego going 4-0 and 3-1 to win and take second in the pool, while Nemaha Central, Pleasant Ridge and ACCHS all competed in action, too. The Thunder notched a 2-2 day with straight set wins over Pleasant Ridge and ACCHS, while ACCHS beat Pleasant Ridge to go 1-3 and the Rams finished 0-4 on the day.

Concordia won the tournament as they beat Wamego in straight sets in the Championship match.
