Jackson Heights Boys Team & Five Other Area Individuals Qualify in 2A for Cross Country State

2016 Class 2A Washington County Cross Country Regional Results - Girls & Boys

Spots at the State competition were up for grabs across the State in cross country Regional action on Saturday and in Class 2A all area schools and runners competed at the Washington County Regional. 

Leading the charge for the area was the running on Jackson Heights as the Cobra boys were the only area 2A team to qualify for State finishing third as the Top three teams in each Regional qualify for State. Cobras best boys performance was Dalton Chartier who placed ninth with a time of 18:02, while Lane Thomas finished 15th, Mark Mavrovich 30th, Xavier Fritz 32nd, Ethan Fund 35th, Andrew Pino 38th and Drew Holliday 43rd. In the girls competition a fourth place finish with a time of 20:19 qualified Faith Little for the lady Cobras to State. 

Valley Heights Mustang, Adrian Pishny had the best area boys individual performance with a time of 17:23 to take second place and qualify for State, while an eighth place finish by Alex Hardin with a time of 18:01 earned him a spot at State, also. 

McLouth Bulldog, Ceara Funk notched a time of 22:23 to place eighth at Regionals and qualified individually for State, while Jefferson County North Charger, Sarah Domann with a time of 22:29 placed tenth place earn a spot at State. 

Valley Falls, Troy and Washington County all had competitors in action also at Regionals. 

Class 2A cross country meet is set for Saturday, October 29th in Wamego at Wamego Country club.
