After just missing out on the State last year falling to Centralia in the Sub-State Championship game the Hanover Wildcat volleyball team found themselves in a seperate Sub-State of Centralia this year but still some tough teams in front of them, but they pounced on a State bid for the first time in many years.

The Wildcats hosted their own Sub-State this year and entered the postseason as the number two seed in the bracket getting a first round bye moving them into the Semifinals automatically. In the Semifinals a familar foe from the Twin Valley League stood in front of Hanover as the Wildcats squared off with Linn and needed three sets but earned the win 25-21, 25-27, 25-20 to advance to the Championship contest. Standing in the way of Hanover for a bid to the 1A-Division I State tournament was the #3 ranked St. John's-Tipton team but the Wildcats caged the Blujays winning 25-13, 25-22 to earn the Sub-State title.

Hanover with the 3-0 Sub-State showing moved to 34-7 on the season and after second place finishes in the TVL regular season and tournament the Wildcats won Sub-State and are headed to the 1A-DI State tournament. The State tournament is set to begin next Friday, October 28th in Hays and the Wildcats will hit the court to open the State tournament with pool play in the afternoon session starting at 4:30pm vs. LaCrosse, 5:30pm vs. Centralia and 7:30pm vs. Pretty Prairie.
