Ten Area Wrestlers & One Team Ranked in Latest KWCA Rankings (Dec. 14th)

The action has heated up on the mats for the high school wrestling and several area grapplers have started the year strong and 10 find themselves in the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association rankings this week with one area team also in the rankings. 

Marysville Bulldogs are off to a strong start to the season with a pair of tournament wins and jump up two spots to #4 in the rankings this week in Class 3-2-1A team rankings. Continuing to lead the Bulldogs individually in the rankings is senior, Jacob Mintzmyer who ranks #1 again this week at 170lbs, while senior, Jacob Stryker remains ranked #4 at 182lbs and sophomore, Jackob Snellings fell one spot to #6 at 106lbs. Senior, Caleb Vogelsberg jumps into the polls this week for Marysville at #6 at 220lbs. 

Doniphan West, Royal Valley, ACCHS and Sabetha all continue to have a wrestler in the 3-2-1A rankings this week. Junior, Zeb Speer of Doniphan West moved up one spot this week in the 160lbs 3-2-1A rankings to #4, while Sabetha Bluejay junior, Seth Harrell also moved up one spot in the rankings at 126lbs to #5. Royal Valley senior, Jacob Box moved down to #4 at 195lbs in the rankings, while ACCHS Tiger senior, Hunter Ostertag fell to #5 in the rankings at 138lbs in Class 3-2-1A. While Riverside Cyclone junior, Scott Resler jumped into the rankings for the first time this year coming in ranked #4 at 145lbs in 3-2-1A. 

One area wrestler continues to be ranked in Class 4A and that is Holton Wildcat senior, Tyler Price who moved down one spot at 170lbs to #2 in the latest rankings.
