Daniel Dulin, head baseball coach at Highland Community College, has announced upcoming winter baseball camps to be held at the College: a prospect camp and US Baseball Academy session.

The Prospect Camp will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, indoors at the Walters Wellness Center on the Highland campus.  The Prospect Camp is a great way for high school players to showcase their skills in front of the Scottie baseball staff. The Camp will consist of offensive and defensive evaluations if of prospective student athletes at the College.

The Prospect Camp is for players in grades 9-12.  Cost of the Camp is $25 if the prospect is a position player or pitcher; $40 if the prospect is both a position player and a pitcher. Players will be evaluated both offensively and defensively by the Highland coaching staff. The morning session will consist of 60s, defense, arm strength, and BP. The afternoon session will consist of live bullpen evaluations. Campers will be able to view their measurables online a week after the camp’s conclusion at scottieathletics.com.

The US Baseball Academy sessions will be conducted in the Walters Wellness Center, this time on successive Sundays --January 15, 22, 29, and February 5. In conjunction with the US Baseball Academy, the Scottie baseball staff will conduct instructional clinics for kids of all ages. All skills will be covered, and local youth coaches are encouraged to attend as well.

The Scottie baseball staff is committed to providing camps and clinics that are both instructional and informational, while also creating a great atmosphere to learn. Camps will be positive, structured, and enthusiastic with assistance from current Scottie players. Every participant will have fun and walk away with a great learning experience.

Dulin noted, "I would love to help develop young players of all ages in the College service area. My goal is to not only take the Scottie baseball program to a higher level, but to increase the excitement level for baseball at all ages in the surrounding areas."
