It was another great season of volleyball action in the Twin Valley League and it was capped of with two state champs and a third place finish at state. Washington County Tigers finished their stellar season off with a 41-3 record, share of TVL regular season title and Class 2A state champs. The Lady Falcons of B&B finished with 40 wins for the second straight year (40-5), a share of the regular season TVL title and Class 1A-DII state champs for the second straight year. While, the Lady Panthers of Centralia capped off a great year with a 40-5 record, share of the TVL regular season title, TVL tournament champs and a third place finish in Class 1A-DI state.
The Twin Valley League has had prime volleyball for years in the state of Kansas and many teams have had great players on their squads. This years All-League teams have been announced for the postseason awards and first team All-League boosts nine All-State players of the 12 earning first team honors.
Washington County had three on the first team with seniors, Kylie Penning and Megan Stegman and sophomore, Erin Alexander. B&B and Wetmore both had two first team All-TVL players in a pair of juniors, Laura Sudbeck and Katie Huerter. Centralia, Frankfort, Axtell, Hanover and Valley Heights all had one player each earn first team honors: Kaitlyn Koch (Centralia), Josie Hale (Frankfort), Hannah Mitchell (Axtell), Courtney Jueneman (Hanover) and Katie Musil (Valley Heights).
Earning second All-TVL honors, Centralia, B&B, Washington County, Frankfort, Hanover and Valley Heights each added another player to the all-league honors. For Centralia and B&B it was two more players; for B&B junior, Ashley Kramer and senior, Haley Strathman got the nod, while for Centralia it was senior, Kindal Deters and sophomore, Katy Haufler. Frankfort senior, Jessa Jones, Hanover senior, Erika Kruse and Valley Heights sophomore, Drew Mann each were named second team, also.
Linn, Onaga and Blue Valley also each placed players on the second team All-TVL squad. For the Linn Bulldogs it was junior, Lauren Oehmke and sophomore, Nicole Ohlde getting second team honors. Onaga junior, Jocelyn Marten and Blue Valley senior, Brittany Pfaff each garnered honors, also.
