Ten Area Wrestlers & One Team Ranked in Latest KWCA Rankings (Dec. 20th)

The first half of the high school wrestling season is in the books as the holiday break has hit and headed into the break 10 area wrestlers and one team are in the latest Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association rankings. 

Leading the way in the rankings for the area again are the Marysville Bulldogs who continue to be a Top five ranked team in Class 3-2-1A coming in ranked fourth in the Top 10. Senior, Jacob Mintzmyer continues to hold down the #1 ranking individually at 170lbs, while three other Bulldogs are also ranked again this week. Senior, Jacob Stryker comes in ranked #4 at 182lbs, while sophomore, Jakob Snellings and senior, Caleb Vogelsberg each check in ranked sixth in their weight classes of 106lbs and 220lbs, respectively. 

Five other area schools are represented in the Class 3-2-1A KWCA rankings headed into the holiday break with four of the five wrestlers coming from a Big Seven League. Royal Valley senior, Jacob Box checks in at #4 at 195lbs, while it's a #5 ranking for ACCHS Tiger senior, Hunter Ostertag and Sabetha Bluejay junior, Seth Harrell at 195lbs and 126lbs. Riverside Cyclones are represented in the polls at 145lbs by junior, Scott Resler who ranks #6. 

The other area grappler in the 3-2-1A rankings is Donpihan West Mustang junior, Zeb Speer who checks in at #5 at 160lbs. 

Class 4A continues to feature only one area wrestler in the polls and that is Holton Wildcat senior, Tyler Price who ranks #2 at 170lbs. 

Area wrestlers and their teams are into the holiday break and will get the season rolling again the first weekend of January on the 6th and 7th.
