#1 Seed Marysville 67, #8 Seed Hiawatha 38

Hiawatha held an early 7-4 lead before Marysville went on a 10-0 run to take a 17-9 advantage after one quarter.  The Bulldogs were up 28-24 at halftime but dominated 39-14 in the second half to pull way to a running clock and the opening round win.  The Bulldogs (8-2) got 22 points from Gabe Pieschl, while Brennan Wetter added 13 off the bench and Tyler Rader chipped in nine off the pine.  That junior trio also combined to make 9 of Marysville's 10 three-pointers.  Hiawatha (3-6) was led by Joseph Kunkel with 13 points in the defeat.

#4 Seed Silver Lake 48, #5 Seed Jackson Heights 45

This game was close throughout although Silver Lake took a big lead of 31-21 with just a minute before halftime and led 31-24 at intermission.  Jackson Heights tied the game at 31 to open the second half on a 7-0 run and again at 33 late in the third quarter.  The Eagles responded with five points to close the frame and then held on to the tight advantage through the final stanza.  Jackson Heights had three possessions down just one point but could never take the lead and the Eagles got four free throws from Ryan Wagner in the final 50 seconds on one-and-one opportunities to protect the lead.  Wagner finished with 12 points while Keenan Baird added 10 and Mason Griffin and Cale Adams each chipped in 8 and Silver Lake improved to 7-2 on the season and made 10 of 13 foul shots.  Wyatt Olberding put up 25 points for the Cobras (6-3) in the loss, but nobody else had more than five.  Braden Dohl missed a potential game-tying triple in the final seconds.

#7 Seed Falls City 67, #2 Seed Horton 40

Horton led 8-7 after one quarter, but it was all Falls City the rest of the game following a 23-6 second quarter.  Brandt Chapple had 32 points including four trifecta's and a couple breakaway dunks while Kyle Leafty added 21 and a dunk in the first half.  The Tigers (9-5) took advantage of 23 Horton turnovers and used transition offense to pull away for the lopsided win.  Jesse Rice posted 13 points for the Chargers (6-3) while Cameron Smith added 8 points.

# 3 Seed Nemaha Central 48, # 6 Seed St. Mary's 46

Nemaha Central scored the first 17 point of the game but St. Mary's outscored them in the last three quarters of the game.  Dylan Enneking scored 7 of his 12 points in the first frame and Mitchell Henry added 9 points for the Thunder who held the ball for the final 50 seconds of the game, and got a putback by Henry with 1.2 seconds left after a missed shot by Enneking at the elbow.  Henry was also fouled on the final shot, but missed the free throw off the front of the rim as time expired and Nemaha improved to 8-2.  St. Mary's hit 8 shots behind the arc including three each for Caden Hurla (10 points) and Mitchell Flannagan (9 points).  The Bears battled all the way back from 17-0 and took a brief lead at 33-31 in the third quarter and tied the game at 46 on a triple with a minute to play before falling to 6-3 on the season.
