The final wrestling competitions for the regular season are set for the upcoming weekend and then wrestlers across Kansas turn their attention to Regionals and the opportunity to qualify for State. KWCA has released another set of rankings this week and 16 area wrestlers are in the rankings along with one area team.

Marysville Bulldogs wrapped up their regular season on the mats on Thursday with a pair of dual victories and have had a strong season winning every tournament that they competed in but one which they finished second at. The Bulldogs move up one spot this week as a team in the Class 3-2-1A polls coming in at #3 and have five individual wrestlers ranked this week. Senior, Jacob Mintzmyer continues to lead Marysville in the rankings as he continues to hold down the #1 spot this week at 170lbs. Senior, Jacob Stryker jumped up one spot in the rankings at 182lbs moving to #3 in the Top six of his weight class while senior, Nick Ackerman and freshman, Joey Bockin each remained ranked at #4 this week at 195lbs and 113lbs, respectively. Freshman, Storm Slupianek jumped back into the rankings this week for Marysville and is ranked #6 at 152lbs.

ACCHS, Sabetha, Royal Valley, Riverside and Pleasant Ridge are all represented in the Class 3-2-1A rankings again this week. ACCHS senior, Hunter Ostertag continues to hold the #1 ranking at 138lbs, while Riverside's lone grappler in the rankings senior, Donovan Duncan moved up one spot to #5 at 220lbs. Sabetha, Royal Valley and Pleasant Ridge each have two wrestlers in the rankings this week. Junior, Seth Harrell and sophomore, Cuay Rokey come in ranked #5 again this week at 126lbs and 182lbs, respectively for Sabetha. Royal Valley Panther senior, Jacob Box comes in ranked #2 once again this week at 195lbs, while Panther senior, Blake Garrison jumps into the rankings at #6 at 220lbs. Pleasant Ridge Rams have Trevor Ragland and Nick Stiver in the rankings again this week each coming in at #6 again at 113lbs and 285lbs, respectively.

In Class 4A only one area wrestler has been ranked most of the year but that changed this week in the KWCA polls as a trio of Holton Wildcats are now in the rankings. Senior, Tyler Price continues to be ranked #3 at 170lbs for Holton, while senior, Tel Wittmer and junior, Kyler Tannahill have each jumped into the rankings for the first time this year. Wittmer comes in ranked #6 at 220lbs and Tannahill ranks #4 at 285lbs in Class 4A.

The wrestling regular season is set to wrap up over the weekend and then Regionals are next up on February 17th and 18th.
