After trailing for the majority of the game, the Sabetha boys went on a 9-0 run over a four minute stretch in the fourth quarter to earn a 39-37 victory at #4 seed Horton on Tuesday night.  Horton jumped to a 14-4 lead after one quarter, thanks to an 11-0 spurt to close out the first frame and the Chargers led by two at halftime and were up one entering the fourth quarter.  However, trying to secure a late 35-30 lead in the final four minutes, the Chargers committed four turnovers and airballed a couple three-point-shots down the stretch before ending their season with a 11-10 record.

Sabetha went ahead for good 37-35 as Eric Renyer converted a three-point-play with 45 seconds remaining.  Renyer finished with 9 of his game high 14 points in the final quarter.  However, after Sabetha missed a one-and-one with 25 seconds left and had hit just 5 of 12 free throws in the game, sophomore Jesse Burger calmly put the game away following a timeout by making both free throws in a one-and-one opportunity with seven ticks remaining as Sabetha took their biggest lead of the game, 39-35.  Craig Wahwahsuck made a putback shot for Horton as time expired and the Chargers finished just 1-2 at the charity stripe all night.

Nathan Isaacs had 11 points for Horton, including five straight to give the Chargers a 32-28 lead with five minutes to play.  Cameron Smith added 10 points and hit a trey to put the home team ahead 35-30 with 4:30 remaining.  Renyer and Burger shared "Player to Bank On" honors from the Citizens State Bank and Trust Company in Hiawatha as Burger added five points off the bench and eight of the nine Bluejays that saw the court scored.  Sabetha improves to 12-9 with a fourth straight win and will play Friday's Sub State Semifinal on their home court versus top seed Maur Hill-Mount Academy, a 57-25 winner against ACCHS.  The other 3A Semifinal pits a pair of ranked teams as Marysville collides with Nemaha Central. Both games Friday will be broadcast live on KNZA 103.9 FM.
