For the sixth time in school history and second time in last three years the Hanover Wildcat boys basketball team hoisted a State title trophy claiming the Class 1A-Division I title on Saturday after a routing 60-36 win over South Gray.

Hanover Wildcats dominated a showdown with a team in South Gray that was averaging 69 points per game but the Wildcats held the Rebels of South Gray to just 36 points and only 27.7% shooting in the contest. Wildcats pounced early taking a 16-9 lead after just the first quarter and that lead grew as Hanover outscored South Gray 15-8 in the second to lead 31-17 at intermission. The final stamp was put on the game by Hanover as they closed out the contest with a 17-8 fourth quarter to earn the 60-36 win.

A 30-18 advantage in points in the paint and 48.7% shooting from the field speared head Hanover's success in the win over South Gray, while the Wildcats were also 19-23 from the free throw line. Michael Jueneman led Hanover with 26 points going 8-14 from the field and 8-8 from the line, while Will Bruna chipped in 12 points and was also perfect from the charity stripe going 6-6.

The win caps the season for Hanover with a 24-2 record and earns them their sixth boys basketball State title trophy and second in the last three years.
